"Help us to say YES to every student that
comes to us wanting a tutor!"

OneLife Tutoring is a FREE service to the community.
For the past 11 years we have been serving K-5th grade students that have been referred to us by local Seattle Public Schools for help in targeted areas such as reading, math, and writing.
We contact teachers for specific information on how to best help the student during the year, and report on their
progress to the parent and the teacher.
All our tutors must pass a Washington State Patrol background check, will be interviewed, & must go through our volunteer training, before being assigned a student.

Transportation Schedule:

Each student will be assigned to a red or blue group.  Their name tags will be in that color with the assistant on their van.
There are spacing requirements in the vans, we might have to run more than one trip for each van.  This also causes a schedule change.  Due to Covid requirements, we will not be offering Dinner as part of the program.

Covid Protocols and Protections at OneLife Tutoring

OneLife Tutoring is under the guidance and protection of the protocols on OneLife Community Church, the building where OneLife Tutoring meets.  The following precautions are being taken to protect the health and well-being of our volunteers and students.
  1. Masks must be worn at all times.  This new rule will be added to the list of student rules.  In person tutors also will wear masks at all times.
  2. Tutors and students will be matched 1:1 and asked to keep at least 3 ft distanced.  This will mean board games limited to only one tutor and student, and seating will be spaced as at school.
  3. All tutors and volunteers will be required to be vaccinated unless they are only working online with students.
  4. No dinner or food will be served.  This is because of the mask requirement.
  5. Sanitizing of work surfaces and equipment; all tutors will help with this effort.
  6. Transportation:  Vans will run but students must not sit next to each other unless they are in the same family.  Students will sit where assigned in a seating chart.  Windows will be open for air circulation.  All students will use sanitizer before entering and exiting the vans.  Parents must sign that their child is not exposed to Covid or has any symptoms before entering the van every night.
  7. Computer Lab: Each student will have a set of headphones, mouse, and keyboard with their name on it in a colored bag at tutoring.  Each tutor will be provided with headphones with their name on it.  Everyone will help keep the equipment stored, sanitized and organized.
